If you frequently put a lot of rounds downrange with your .223/5.56 AR and quickly, you need to squeeze as much control out of your rifle as possible. A good way to do this is to replace your mil-spec A2 flash hider with a muzzle brake. For exactly this reason, Fortis Manufacturing gives you the Rapid Engagement Device, or the Fortis RED. It installs just like your A2 does, so it won't take but a minute or so.
The Fortis RED is specifically designed to give you more control during rapid fire. It does this by using purposefully placed internal chambers and side vents which greatly reduce recoil. On top are three successively smaller ports that aid in giving you a little reduction in muzzle rise. See below for more info.
